Punk "Don Armenta"
Baby girl Armenta decided to come into this world five weeks early. Elizabeth gave birth at 3:16 p.m. this afternoon to a beautiful little girl. She is 5 lb 12 oz, 18 1/2" inches long. Speaking of long...she has long feet and fingers. Elizabeth's work was going to have a baby shower this Thursday for her and her sister's planned a shower the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Not only is she "No Name Baby Girl, she has no clothes. We are making a quick trip to the store tomorrow. "No Name" (that's what they call her) is doing good and so is Elizabeth. Punk holds her constantly! You will see in the attached photos how beautiful she is...Grandma said so!! Grandpa is in Sacramento at Thais' house.
Elizabeth's sister Michelle and her son were there visiting.
Enjoy

California Capital Air Show 2006

Here is an aerial photo I took from Air 10, of the 2006 Capital Air Show from an altitude of 500 feet. During the air show we had some VIP guests in the helicoptor with us...named Jennifer, Brooke and their friend the unicorn. These are Abbey and friend Ashley's favorite dolls. The pilot, Ed Georges, stated that this is the first time he has ever had this type of VIP passengers (LOL). The last photo is of an aircraft that we used for a live shot on News 10 for the 6pm news.

16-year old girl saved from raging water
My morning started off by receiving a call from News 10 around 9:00 a.m., asking if I could head straight out to the helicopter. As I was getting ready to go out the door I asked Vikki to grab the lifejackets we use for kayaking. I grabbed the lifejackets and headed straight for Air 10. When I arrived at Air 10 I loaded up the lifejackets and other necessary gear for the flight. We could not launch right away due to unfavorable weather conditions. An hour later, the storm let up enough for us to launch Air 10 and begin surveying the water damage in the Sacramento Valley. We flew up to the Roseville area and had approximately 7 minutes to kill before our next live shot. I had set the camera controller down and looked out the windows of the helicopter. The helicopter banked to the right, I noticed a flash of light from the left. I asked Cecil, the pilot, to do a hard bank to the left so I could get a better look. We were approximately 3-4 miles away from the scene. The clouds had opened and a ray of sunshine had reflected off the windshield and hood of the yellow truck. That definitely caught my attention. Now that I look back, it seems that God wanted her to be found. As we flew on we could see a yellow object, and to our amazement, there was a teenage girl in the back of the truck, stuck in the river. At this point the water was up to the hood of the truck. We circled around and called for another helicopter to rescue the girl. While the rescue helicopter was en route, the girl had removed her jacket, and climbed out of the truck, standing on the step side of the truck, holding onto the truck with one hand. She was getting ready to jump into the river and try to swim to safety. We noticed there were many obstacles (fences, stumps, and debris) in the swift-flowing water. Cecil and I agreed that we needed to land and tell her to stay in the truck...help was on the way. We did not feel her chances of survival were too great should she leave the truck. When we landed in the field, I remembered to position the camera to capture the events unfolding before our eyes. I grabbed one of the life jackets, ran through the muddy field and told her to stay in the truck, that a rescue helicopter was on the way. She appeared to be shaken. I asked her if she was okay.......Yes. Was there anyone else in the truck?.......No. I explained to here that we were going to leave and hover above her, if anything happened we would be there for her. Her plea to me was , "Can you call my mom?" I emphatically told her no, she could call her mother later. I got back in Air 10, Cecil and I took off to get out of the Sac Metro Fire Helicopter Rescue Team's way. The rest is history. I'm curious to hear what the girls mother had to say when she was contacted. Man, I LOVE my job!

Abbey playing soccer
Today (Saturday,November 5), Abbey scored her first goal in soccer. And we won the game!
This is Abbey's second year playing soccer. Although she is very fast, she has decided that she does not want to play again next year.
Abbey likes playing goalie and doing cartwheels on the field!
If playing soccer doesn't work out, she can always become a flying nun.
